World Cup enters the Knockout stage

In the first quarterfinal of the ICC world cup 2011, Pakistan a favourite team to win the cup now is going to take on two times world champion West Indies at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur in Bangladesh. Though there were no major upsets during the group stages because of the format of the tournament all expected teams entered the knockout stage but now as Pakistan is favourite to win the cup some hard hitting by Windies batsmen like Pollard and Gayle may turn the tables for them.

Ashes: Aussies down and out

Ashes that started from Gabba and ended at MCG on boxing day was a pleasant four for English this season. England’s victory doesn’t only recognize their growing power but also clears all the doubts about Australia losing grip as supremicy in Test Cricket. India still is on No.1 position in world test ranking but England and South Africa are not way behind and English think that they can reach the target if they play well.
